09 Oct 07 Bangkok - Arrival
Catch your flight - Cathay Pacific #713 arriving at 10:35. Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to Novotel Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel which is situated only 300 meters from the Bangkok International Airport. The Hotel operates a 24 hour free shuttle bus service between the terminal and the Hotel. Their shuttle service operates from Gate 4, Level 2 - Arrival Level.

10 Oct 07 Phnom Penh - The Killing Fields
Check out of the hotel and catch the Shuttle to the airport for your flight - Bangkok Airways PG931 departing 07:40 & arriving at 08:50. Arrive in Phnom Penh where you will be met by an air conditioned car and driver. Transfer to your hotel for check in.
Head to the Tuol Sleng Prison Museum where your guide will explain the history of the Khmer Rouge and walk you through the different museum displays. After watching the movie they show every day, head out to the Killing Fields, where a memorial stupa and shallow pits remind visitors of the thousands killed under the Pol Pot Regime.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
On the way back stop at a local organization that takes at-risk and orphaned children and provides them with education and dance training, sit in on a traditional dance class and be amazed at the grace and persistence of these students.
Return to your hotel and relax before dinner at a riverside restaurant serving traditional Khmer or Western food.

11 Oct 07 Phnom Penh - City Tour
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a tour of the Royal Palace, still the royal residence. See the amazing royal collection and the beautiful architecture before heading to the National Museum where pre-Angkorean pieces, as well as special pieces from the temples are housed. Take a tour of the museum with a trained museum guide.
Enjoy lunch at Friends, a restaurant benefiting at-risk street children.
After lunch your guide will take you to central market, reported to be the biggest domed market in the world, and to the famous Russian Market where everything from souvenirs to car parts is on sale. Enjoy a shopping spree or just browse along with the locals out doing their shopping.
Enjoy dinner at the FCC on the banks of the Mekong.

12 Oct 07 Siem Reap - Arrival
You will be taken to the airport in time to catch your onward flight - Siem Reap Airways FT992 departing 09:30 & arriving at 10:25. You will be met by a Journeys Within representative and taken to Journeys Within Bed & Breakfast where you will meet your host Brandon Ross. Join Brandon for sundowners on the back patio and then head into town for a traditional buffet dinner and dance show.

13 Oct 07 Siem Reap - Angkor Wat
This morning head to Angkor Wat in an air conditioned car, or if you choose by bike, with your guide. Explore this majestic temple throughout the morning while it is still cool and has fewer tourists. Return to Journeys Within for lunch and a nap or refresh with a swim.
In the afternoon head to Angkor Thom, the famous walled city and see the many temples within its borders, including the fascinating Bayon temple with its many magnificent faces smiling out. There are several beautiful spots to be at sunset. Discuss with your guide where you would like to be and then relax and enjoy a memorable end to your day at the temples.

14 Oct 07 Siem Reap - Banteay Srei & Other Temples
This morning set off with your guide to Banteay Srei, the intricately carved temple just 30 km beyond Angkor Wat. Followed by a stop at the Land Mine Museum, a rather humble look at the land mine problem, past and present, in Cambodia.
Later in the afternoon head back to the temples where you will visit Banteay Kdei and Ta Prohm, two of the prettiest temples in the complex. Watch the sunset from inside Ta Prohm or from the Angkor Wat promenade. Enjoy dinner on your balcony or by the pool.

15 Oct 07 Pakse - Khong Island
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Pakse, Laos - Laos Airlines QV523 departing 14:55 & arriving at 15:50 Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by our Pakse guide and driven to Pak Song and the beautiful Bolaven Plateau where you can visit a tea and coffee plantation. From there drive to Wat Phou, a World Heritage listed site. Stay over night at Khong Island.

16 Oct 07 Pakse - Mekong River Trip Day 2
After breakfast transfer to Ban Na Ka Sang, followed by a longtail boat ride to the fishing village of Ban Khone. From there take a local motor cart ride to visit the fantastic Lipi Falls. In the afternoon drive to see the Khone Pha Pheng Waterfalls and on to Pakse.

17 Oct 07 Vientiane - Arrival
You will be transferred to the airport from your hotel for your flight - Laos Airlines QV522 departing 10:35 & arriving at 11:45. Arrive Vientiane where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Take a guided city tour including Hor Prakeo, Wat Sisaket, That Luange, and Pra Tou Chai before returning for a traditional dinner including a music and dance performance.

18 Oct 07 Vientiane to Luang Prabang
Your guide will take you to visit the Khaisone Phomvihan Museum. See the traditional weaving village of Ban Nong Bua Thong and the busy central market.
You will be transferred to Vientiane Airport in time for your onward
flight - Laos Airlines QV111 departing 09:20 & arriving at 10:00. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Your guide will meet you at your Hotel to take you to see the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall and then visit a Khamu hilltribe village.

19 Oct 07 Luang Prabang - City Tour
Wake up early to see monks receive morning alms. Return to your hotel for breakfast after which your guide will take you on a city tour including Phousi Mount, the National Museum, Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Visun, and Wat Sen.
You will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the Adventure and Elephant Camp about 15 km out of town and set in beautiful, natural surroundings on the bank of the Nam Khan River.
After crossing the small river you will be introduced to the protected Asian Elephants and go out on one of them for an hour and a half scenic ride. Enjoy the view from on high as you make your way through the tropical forests and along the Nam Khan River. The ride will bring you to the beautiful Tad Sae waterfalls where you will have a picnic lunch and can enjoy swimming in the refreshing pools. A short boat trip will bring you back to the Elephant and Adventure Camp from where you will transfer back into Luangprabang.

20 Oct 07 Luang Prabang - Day on the Mekong
After breakfast, take a longtail boat crossing to the right bank of the Mekong and the pottery making village of Ban Han. From here take a thirty minute walk to Wat Long Khoune village. Another boat will take you from here up river to the rice-wine distilling village of Ban Sang Hai followed by a visit to the Pak Ou caves famous for hundreds of miniature statues of the Buddha. Return to Luang Prabang by longtail boat in the late afternoon.

21 Oct 07 Luang Prabang - Trekking
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you will be taken by minivan to the start of your trek. Here you will cross the Nam Kan River and continue up into the hills. Walk through villages and enjoy lunch cooked by your guide and villagers. Continue on after lunch and visit the Hmong people high on the hills, most villages here live at a subsistence level and are fascinated by people visiting them. Head back down to the river and watch the sunset as you take a local boat across to where your van will be waiting.
